Recipe Ideas?
Any ideas for healthy meals i can make my 3 & half yr old and 2 yr old.
They are both fully able to eat on their own but i can’t think of new ideas for meals and they’re getting a bit bored with my usual pasta & veg dinners
i have 3 girls ages 8,6,and 5. my 5 and 6 year olds were the pickiest toddlers ever and they are still picky!! here are some good options
-fried rice. it’s easy to make and the kids love the flavor. you can make it homemade. just make some instant rice following the package directions then put in a skillet w a small amount of olive oil and fry it for 1-2 minutes until crisp. add 1 egg and scramble, mixing it with the rice. mix in some frozen veggies (corn, carrots, peas, etc) and season w/a small amount of soy sauce.
-homemade mac & cheese w/diced ham. my kids also loved this. just throw some noodles w/velveeta together and add diced ham to it.
-barbeque beef cups. these are so good!! take a can of refridgerated biscuits, 1 lb ground beef, 1/2 c bbq sauce, 1/3 c shredded cheddar cheese. brown beef and drain off fat-add bbq sauce and mix. take biscuits and flatten them out-place them inside a muffin tin, making sure dough comes to top of pan. spoon in beef mixture . bake in oven at 350 degrees for 12 minutes-add cheese and cook 3 mins more.
-give them veggies sticks (sliced carrots and cucumbers into sticks) and give them a cup of ranch dressing to dip them in
-fruit w/yogurt dip
-chicken strips (homemade) take chicken breast and cut into strips. coat them with plain yogurt then roll them into crushed cereal of your choice (bran flakes, shredded wheat, honey oats). bake for 20 mins on cookie sheet at 400 degrees. serve with dipping sauce of your choice.
-veggie pizza. this is a fav of me and my bf still!! take crescent rolls (kind that come in a can) and roll them out-not separating them until they line the bottom of a cookie sheet. bake as normal. let cool for about 10-15 mins. cover top of crescent roll “crust” with cream cheese and add chopped up veggies (we like to use broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and tomatoes). this is an easy thing to make and so healthy!!
hope these ideas help!!
