Recipe For Chicken Divan
Recipe For Chicken Divan
Cubed “cooked” chicken means what exactly?
Silly question, I know.
I’m trying to make something called “Broccoli & Chicken Divan” for my father but can’t quite figure out if “cut cubed cooked chicken” means grilled, fried, or baked chicken. It doesn’t say which to use on the recipe & I’m terribly afraid to mess it up. Help would be greatly appreciated. Also, any other tips for making the dish, as well.
You guys are great, thanks. Now if only I knew how to respond to your answers lol. I think I’m going to try grilling the chicken this time around, it seems the easiest. I was also worried about the frozen broccoli part, I think I’m going to try to boil some fresh broccoli, that sounds like a plan. I’m rather short on time, thawing would take minutes I don’t have. Thank you for all your help!
You can use any method to cook it. You can even boil it. Then just cut it into cubes.
If you have a recipe for Chicken Divan would you please share it with me?
Thank you so much. My wife wants to make some.
2 c. chopped broccoli
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. pepper
Dash ground nutmeg
3/4 c. light cream or milk
1/2 c. chicken broth
1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
2 tbsp. dry white wine
1 1/2 c. cubed cooked chicken
3 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
Paprika
Steam or boil broccoli. Arrange in a 10 x 6 x 2 inch baking dish.
Saute – melt butter in medium saucepan. Stir in flour, pepper and nutmeg. Add cream or milk and chicken broth all at once. Cook, stirring until thick and bubbly. Add Swiss cheese and wine, stirring until cheese melts.
Pour 1/2 sauce over broccoli. Top with chicken, then remaining sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes or until heated through. Serve over rice if desired.
