£1.99 chickens for sale at Tesco?
What do you think of that – good or bad? If you normally pay the couple of extra pounds to get a free-range chicken, would you be tempted to go against this and buy the cheap chicken instead?
If I can afford it, I go for free range chickens and also eggs. I visited a battery chicken farm a couple of times and it was a horrible place. You can’t help feeling so sorry for the chickens in there. OK, I know they’re only dumb chickens but they still suffer a lot.
I also know some people living near the poverty line would opt for the cheaper chickens and I can’t really blame them either. I know what it’s like to make ends meet when you have little money.
