Chicken Soup Slow Cooker

slow cooker recipe for chicken soup?
Hello, I would like to know how to make chicken soup in slow cooker. I have a whole cut up fryer and want to know if I should put water in to cover chicken. I need to know how long on low or high heat to cook chicken. Thanks
Oooh, I know this one. Soup in a crockpot is easy, I love it.
Put the chicken in there, and add enough chicken broth to cover (or almost cover) it. Let it cook for as long as neccessary – like about 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high, if the chicken was raw.
In the last few hours of cooking you can add some vegetables. Add whatever mixture you want. Celery, carrot and onion is standard for chicken soup, I think. Some white pepper and maybe a bay leaf would be good, or whatever other seasoning you’d like.
My only warning to you is sometimes when I cook bone-in chicken in the crock pot, I get tiny little bits of bone that flake off and get in the broth. It’s impossible to get those out, and you just have to spit them out while eating the soup. Maybe there’s a way to avoid that, but I haven’t figured it out yet. I like to use boneless chicken for that reason.
