Pepper Stir Fry
pepper steak stir-fry recipe?
i have pepper-steak strips which i would like to stir-fry.
i also have white basmsti rice to go along with it.
does anyone have any good recipes?
i only use natural ingredients so please don’t offer recipes that call for ketchup, mayonnaise etc.
you can boil the basmati rice like plain white rice or you can add 1/2 crushed cardamon pods into the rice when cooking to make the rice more fragrant (remember to remove it after cooking cos if you were to bite it, it has a bitterish taste.)
steak strips (not sure will you have chinese condiments but its a simple & delicious recipe) – you’ve gotta adjust the amount of the marinade to use base on your steak strips you got.
marinade: (mix to coat evenly and leave for at least 30mins)
soy sauce (light)
-1 or 2 slices of ginger, thinly sliced & smashed
-wedges of onions
-slices of bell pepper (all 3 colours; red, yellow & green)
-chili, deseeded & cut into 1/2 inch slices (leave the seeds in if you like it hot or omit completely as its actually just to add colour to the dish)
-some dark soy sauce
-cornstarch/cornflour/potato starch mix it with a little water (ratio should be 1 tsp flour to 2 tsp water)
1) heat oil and fry the ginger and garlic until fragrant then add the steak strips. once they are lightly browned, remove from heat.
2) add a little more oil and saute the onions until transparent then add in the peppers and some water (enough for a sauce), stir to mix and let it come to a simmer. (depending on the size – 2 to 4 mins; peppers should be cooked but still a little crunchy)
3) return the meat to the pan and stir them for a while. and let the sauce come to a boil. taste the sauce & season with soy sauce and a little sesame oil if needed.
4) stir in the flour mixture in the sauce and once the sauce thickens, turn off the heat and serve immediately with hot rice.
How do I make stir fry when one person wants chicken and the other tofu?
I want to use broccoli and red pepper and brown rice, but neither person wants the others’ protein to touch their food.
How do I prepare the chicken in a healthy way?
Make the basic stir fry with no chicken or tofu. In a small pan cook the chicken. In another small pan cook the tofu. Add the tofu or chicken to the persons plate.
